Project Details
Located in the heart of a Lake Michigan resort community, this segment of Harbor Drive is the epicenter of activity for summer holidays and celebrations. Abonmarche assisted the City of Grand Haven with MEDC Infrastructure Capacity Enhancement (ICE) and Community Development Block Grant Funding (CDBG) grant funding to enable the reconstruction and improvement of their key waterfront and roadway infrastructure.
The Riverwatch project removed a steep embankment, replacing it with a series of decorative walls, a new pedestrian plaza, a street festival area with electrical services for food trucks, street lighting, fiber optic connectivity, and landscape amenities. Abonmarche oversaw the project from the grant application phase through construction and project closeout. To minimize disruption to the City’s vital summer events and commerce, the project was phased and constructed so as to be complete prior to the Annual Coast Guard Festival in August. Today, the Riverwatch is a vibrant communal gathering space for residents and visitors alike.
