Project Details
Abonmarche Byce provided architectural and engineering services for the Tiny Houses of HOPE development, a housing initiative led by HOPE thru Navigation in Kalamazoo’s Northside neighborhood. This impactful project offers affordable, permanent housing for individuals with criminal justice histories and past substance use disorders, populations often excluded from traditional housing. Phase 1 included three 410 SF, energy efficient homes. Each semi-furnished unit features high-end finishes and rents for just $400 per month.
Working alongside HOPE thru Navigation and Adam Garland Construction, our team designed welcoming, functional spaces that support residents’ stability and independence. The development integrates wraparound services and is funded through Kalamazoo County’s “Homes for All” millage and City support. Future phases will add three more homes and an 800 SF service center to expand onsite support.
