Abonmarche worked closely with the South Haven Joint Building Authority to design a plan to upgrade and expand the city’s existing library facility — taking into account the building’s original Mid-Century design, while also addressing ADA accessibility features and creating a more open and inviting interior.
We collaborated closely with the library board, administrative staff, and citizen members of the design committee to determine needs, set priorities, and articulate architectural character. Our team helped the client facilitate an inclusive public meetings process to engage with their community; presenting options and assisting in the creation of an objective and transparent decision making process was helpful in accomplishing the client’s goal.
