Project Details
Abonmarche Byce provided architectural, interior design, mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering services for the redevelopment of a portion of Ransom Street in Kalamazoo’s Northside Neighborhood. This concentrated in-fill project included the design of four contextually appropriate, subsidized single-family homes. In collaboration with NACD, future residents, and committed builders, Abonmarche Byce developed a cost-effective prototype that was adapted to fit each in-fill site and homeowner’s needs. The project scope included the construction of a fully accessible, twostory single-family home featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a basement, and a detached two-stall garage. Site work included clearing, excavation, and backfilling, as well as improvements such as paving, new driveway throat/curb cuts, city sidewalks, landscaping, fencing, and general site enhancements.
