Project Details

The Village of Vicksburg took the first step in creating a non-motorized connection between the Village of Vicksburg and the City of Portage, to the north.  This project improved existing sidewalks to meet non-motorized path criteria, path extension, and roadway crossing treatments for midblock crossing of a county road.

Abonmarche accomplished these goals by utilizing our extensive experience with planning and developing non-motorized facilities. With our knowledge of the MDOT Local Agency Programs, we successfully navigated environmental and administrative regulatory procedures; complied with the requirements of the MDOT plan submittal procedures; and administered construction of the project amidst the challenges of remote work and social distancing requirements presented by COVID-19. In leveraging our staff’s diverse project experience, we were able to keep the project team small, thus making communication more efficient and timely.
