Project Details
This federal-aid LPA project included an environmental assessment, topographic survey, route survey, land acquisition of 14 parcels, hydraulic design and road design for 2,000 feet of Division Street in Demotte. This street is a major east–west corridor that runs through a residential area. The 18-foot road was replaced with two 11-foot lanes, plus 3-foot bituminous shoulders.
The project is drained by roadside swales and culverts with environmental vegetative buffers that discharge in the county legal drain ditches. There were various safety enhancements including guardrail and ditch relocation for enhanced clear zones. The construction project was phased to maintain the only access into the town police station, town hall, park and community pool.
