Project Details
Abonmarche was retained by Cedarville Township of Menominee County to develop the harbor of refuge. The project included restoration of a large coastal wetland located on the southern border of the marina. The marina has 144 slips, parking for 120 cars, and a bath house/lounge facility. The existing boat launch was upgraded to include an expanded launch ramp, an attendant office/public restroom building and a paved parking lot for 93 cars and trailers.
There is now a safe place for boaters to stop between Menominee Harbor and Escanaba Harbor, a distance of about 50 miles. The Cedar River Boat Launch and Access Site, located about halfway between the two harbors, was created to give boaters a place to moor in the event of a sudden storm.
