Project Details
Abonmarche was proud to return to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan, a facility we originally designed in 2011, to lead the renovation and expansion of the Joel E. Smilow Teen Center. The project included architectural and engineering services to create a more welcoming and visible presence through the addition of a new entrance canopy, as well as interior renovations to both the main and lower levels of the facility. A key feature of the renovation was the integration of the Best Buy Teen Tech Center in the lower level – a dynamic, technology-rich
space designed to inspire and empower the next generation of creators and innovators.
The Teen Tech Center provides teens with access to advanced tools and hands-on learning in music production, photography, videography, coding, game design, robotics, 3D printing, and Esports. This project was made possible through a partnership with Best Buy Foundation, Whirlpool Foundation, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Southwest Michigan, and reflects a shared commitment to fostering creativity, learning, and career exploration in a supportive, state-of-the-art environment.
