Derek Sever joined Abonmarche as a Business Development Specialist in our Benton Harbor office. 

Derek has been in communications all of his adult life. Having spent many years “on the air” as a radio personality – twelve as a fast paced, high energy morning show host – he’s spent the last eighteen years as an independent automotive facilitator concentrating on teaching new technology, inter-personal skills, and customer satisfaction.

Whittaker Street Redevelopment

Whittaker Street provides access to New Buffalo’s first-class beach.  The street had long been overlooked and was in need of major infrastructure repairs.

As Abonmarche designed for the necessary infrastructure improvements, it worked with city officials and residents to create a vision for the redevelopment of the community’s central business district (CBD).

Calhoun County Building Courtyard Wins Award

Abonmarche congratulates Calhoun County on winning a 2018 Community Landscape Beautification Award from the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association.  Abonmarche's Kathy Burczak was the landscape architect for the project.

Douglas Road Lane Expansion

Engineering a better traffic flow

Abonmarche designed and prepared plans for reconstruction and additional travel lanes for Douglas Road, increasing the traffic lanes from two lanes to five and six lanes on the east side of the SR 23 intersection. The project provided a new Portland cement concrete pavement with curbing, sidewalks, street lighting and a new storm water management system.

FedEx Distribution Facility

With online shopping booming, FedEx decided a large distribution center in South Bend was needed to meet demand for the company’s ground shipping services.

Abonmarche was brought in to conduct pre-construction surveys engineering, and construction administration for the project.

Preliminary engineering refined building and parking placements based on survey information and zoning ordinances.  A final site plan was completed and submitted to the Area Plan Commission and the City of South Bend for approval.
