Fountain Grand Opening
Saturday, September 5th was an exciting day for residents and visitors in St. Joseph, Michigan as jets of water gushed to life at the new Whirlpool Compass Fountain on Silver Beach .

Abonmarche designed the fountain with assistance from Fountain Technologies of Chicago and Chip Reay of St. Louis.  The floor of the compass is composed of 5 different colors of concrete and 20 interior fountain jets that operate with 5 computerized light shows. Eight water cannons located on the perimeter are timed to spray 35 feet into the air at 30 minute intervals.


The fountain is just one component of the Silver Beach Development designed by Abonmarche.  Next year will see the opening of the Shadowland Convention Center, Curious Kids’ Museum Discovery Zone, and Silver Beach Carousel house.
